GENERAL INFORMATIONÂ Â
What is reseating?Â
- Reseating is the process where all current men's basketball season ticket holders will have the opportunity to re-select seats from new pricing options in the McCarthey Athletic Center prior to the upcoming season based on their accumulated priority points. Priority points reflect historical giving and longevity as a season ticket holder. As part of the modernization of our season ticket structure, longtime season ticket holders will now experience an enhanced bonus structure within our priority points system. Once priority points are calculated, each season ticket holder will be provided an appointment to select any available seats up to the current number of season tickets in the account. Season ticket holders can choose between three different options for their seat selection including participating in person, by phone or via Zoom. The reseating process will prioritize current season ticket holders during selection. Â
Why are we reseating?Â
- Since the McCarthey Athletic Center opened 21 years ago, we have not engaged in a reseat process. The industry norm in college athletics is to reseat a venue every 3-5 years. By contemporizing our model to include a regular reseat based on priority points every 5 years, we build a structure that provides transparency, predictability and is responsive to the needs and preferences of season ticket holders. We have mentioned in many communications the changing landscape in college athletics. These changes are impacting everything from governance, Division I membership requirements, and financial models to athlete experience, NIL, and fan engagement. Without adapting to the new realities of Division I athletics, the financial implications of these changes will threaten our ability to maintain a nationally-competitive men's basketball program. Gonzaga Athletics must build a sustainable structure that supports our commitment to compete at the highest level of college basketball. We sought input through the Gonzaga Men's Basketball Season Ticket Holder survey and were grateful for a 78% response rate and, considering the responses from the survey, we determined reseating was the most viable method of addressing these changing needs. Please click here for more information

RESEATING PROCESS & DETAILS
How does reseating work?Â
- Every current ticket account holder will receive an assigned time based on their seat selection position to choose seats. Any time after your selection window opens, you may select your seats from available inventory in the McCarthey Athletic Center. Although there is no time limit, selecting your seats as close to your assigned time as possible ensures better availability.
If I like my current seats and don't want to move, do I need to do anything? Â
- This is a full reseating of the building, which means everyone will need to select seats. If your current seats are available at your appointment window, you may select them; otherwise, you will need to choose alternative seats. Â
When will the seat selections take place? Â
- Seat selection will begin in early October and run for approximately 2 weeks. Please refer to the timeline above for additional important dates.Â
How and when will I receive my seat selection window?Â
- Seat selection windows will be sent via email during the last week in September. Â
How will I know what seats will be available for my selection window?
- The seat map and updated seat availability will be communicated on a regular basis throughout the selection process in October. Full details on the seat selection process will be detailed in the Seat Selection Guide available in early September.
What should I do if I miss my seat selection window? Â
- If you miss your seat selection window, you can still select your seats at any time after your window opens, but please be aware that other ticket holders will continue to select seats as their windows open. We have multiple ways to select seats and do not require you to be present.
SEAT SELECTION OPTIONS
What can I do if I want to pick seats with a friend or group of friends?Â
- If two or more ticket holders want to select seats together, they must wait until the selection time of the account holder with the lower priority points. Â
Can I add seats to my account during the reseat process? Â
- Currently, the reseating process is limited to the number of seats you already hold as a season ticket holder. At the conclusion of the process, we will reassess the available inventory and communicate any opportunities for adding seats. If you are interested in adding seats to your account, please contact our Development staff at gozags@gonzaga.edu. Â
Are there unavailable seats during this process?Â
- Some seats will be unavailable due to West Coast Conference requirements, visiting team ticket obligations, University needs, and logistical considerations. Â
SELECTION METHODSÂ
How do I select my seats?Â
- There will be three options to choose from when your appointment window opens: in person, by phone, or by zoom. If you will be unavailable, you may designate a proxy to select seats on your behalf. Please watch your email as more information on seat selection will be emailed.
PRIORITY POINTS
What is the difference between Priority Point Rank and Seat Selection Position? Â
- Priority Point Rank: Based on the entire Gonzaga Athletics donor constituency
- Seat Selection Position: Based on active season ticket holders
How are priority points calculated?Â
- Priority points are awarded based on several factors, and an enhanced loyalty bonus is the only change to the priority points system. If you would like more information on priority point calculations, click here. Â
What are Loyalty Bonus points and how do they work?Â
- To honor the legacy and history of our long-standing season ticket holders we have implemented an enhanced Loyalty Bonus points system. This system rewards long-standing season ticket holders with additional priority points (University records date back to 1994). These bonus points are added to your overall priority point total, improving your ranking in the reseating process, and reflecting our appreciation for your long-term loyalty and support.Â
- 10 Years: Receive 20 bonus pointsÂ
- 20 Years: Receive 60Â bonus pointsÂ
- 30 Years:Â Receive 140Â bonus pointsÂ
When will I receive my priority point total and seat selection position?Â
- Your current priority point total and initial seat selection position will be sent via email on August 7. Final priority point totals and seat selections positions will be emailed the week of September 23. Â
What if I have questions about my priority point total?Â
SEAT SELECTION POSITION
When will I receive my final seat selection position and appointment windows?Â
- Priority points and seat selection appointment times will be set on September 16th and emailed out the week of September 23. Please refer to the timeline above for important dates and deadlines.Â
Can I improve my seat selection position after September 15?Â
- No. Seat selection position improvements can be made from August 7 to September 15. After September 15, no changes can be made.Â
How does the priority points system affect my seat selection?Â
- The priority points system determines the order in which you select your seats but does not limit where you can choose seats that are available at your time of selection. Here is an example of how it works:
- Example: If you have 200 priority points and another ticket holder has 150, you will select your seats before them. The more priority points you have, the earlier your seat selection window opens, giving you access to a wider range of available seats.Â
How can I improve my seat selection position?Â
- Consider making new gifts or pledges to improve your priority points and seat selection position. If you would like to know more about making a gift or pledge to increase your priority point total, please click here.
FINANCIAL & PAYMENT DETAILSÂ
When will I need to pay the cost of my ticket?Â
- At the time of seat selection, 50% of the cost of tickets will be due and can be paid by credit card or check. The remaining ticket cost shall be paid by December 15 with similar forms of acceptable payment.
When will I need to pay my seat contribution?Â
- Standard Payment:Â The men's basketball contribution must be paid by February 1.Â
- Payment Plan: If you are on a payment plan, the contribution can be paid by April 15. Â
What is a payment plan, and how does it work?Â
- A payment plan provides flexibility and allows you to spread the cost of your men's basketball contribution over a period of time, rather than paying the full amount upfront. Here's how it works:Â
- Enrollment: To enroll in a payment plan, please email the Ticket Office at tickets@gonaga.edu or indicate you would like a payment plan when checking out after your seat selection.Â
- Installments:Â Once enrolled, you will make regular installment payments according to the agreed schedule.Â
- Deadline:Â All installments must be completed by April 15.Â
What does my season ticket pay for?Â
- Ticket revenue plays a crucial role in supporting various aspects of our men's basketball program including scholarships, training and medical services, team travel and logistics, academic support, coaches compensation and other operational costs.Â
Will I be allowed to resell my tickets?Â
- The Gonzaga Athletic Department does not allow the practice of reselling Gonzaga athletic tickets above face value. Tickets may be sold at face value or donated back to Gonzaga in exchange for tax-deducible gift credit and priority points for the face value of each ticket returned. A copy of the Gonzaga Ticket Policy can be found here. Â
What other fees will be associated with my season tickets?
- For the 2024-25 season, all processing fees, order charges and City Admissions Tax are included in the total cost per seat.
What is the City Admissions Tax? Â
- The City Admissions Tax (CAT) is a required tax imposed by the city of Spokane on the sale of event tickets to generate city revenue. Â Â

MISCELLANEOUS RESEATING ITEMS
Will our non-conference schedule be upgraded?
- Scheduling for a perennial top-25 men's basketball program has historically been challenging and is ever more so in the NIL and conference realignment-era. These challenges are magnified by a growing conference schedule (currently 18 games) against a total allowable number of games (28 plus 1 multiple-team event/MTE). Further, we are subject to the parameters outlined by West Coast Conference legislation that directly impact non-conference scheduling. Specifically:Â
- In addition to prescribed conference games, each men's basketball team must also compete in a MTE (e.g. Maui Invitational, Battle 4 Atlantis, etc.).
- Each men's basketball team must play the majority of its non-conference games at home.Â
- With the expansion of power conference schedules moving to 20 games in recent years, and membership expansion effective in the upcoming season, there are limited opportunities to play teams in the top-150 – let alone the top 25 – in true 'home and home' agreements. While we continue to seek scheduling agreements with prominent programs that include – at least in part – a home game in the McCarthey Athletic Center, these opportunities are complex to achieve. Instead, teams prefer games in a MTE and neutral site single game events with revenue and NIL opportunities. These games are also a vital part of our scheduling model, as they help our team build a postseason resume. Further, these games and events often generate media exposure and revenue. A byproduct of playing elite opponents in neutral site contests requires us to play a greater number of teams in home contests without the further obligations.Â
- Importantly, our upcoming conference schedule is fortified with this year's addition of Oregon State and Washington State and next year's addition of Grand Canyon University and Seattle University.
What is the proposed House settlement? Â
- The proposed House settlement is a legal agreement under consideration by the presiding judge involving the NCAA and the five major athletic conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, and SEC) to resolve class-action lawsuits. This proposed settlement addresses back damages and future benefits for Division I student-athletes, focusing on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights. More information on the proposed settlement can be found here.Â
Are you reducing the number of student seats?Â
- While the traditional number of student activations will be nominally impacted, adjustments have been made to band (section 103) and men's basketball team allocation sections (section 108). Â
Are there plans to reseat the McCarthey Athletic Center for Women's Basketball?Â
Is reseating a new practice for Gonzaga?Â
- While this is the first reseat for the McCarthey Athletic Center, we are contemporizing our system where we intend to reseat every five years. This is a common practice at institutions with highly successful programs to ensure organized distribution of seats, financial sustainability, and an enhanced overall fan experience. Â
If this is an industry norm, what other schools reseat?Â
- Below are just a few examples of basketball programs that reseat their basketball venues. These schools, among others, recognize the benefits of reseating in maintaining a vibrant and engaged fan environment.Â
Baylor, Butler, BYU, Creighton, Dayton, Drake, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Loyola Chicago, Louisville, Marquette, Maryland, New Mexico, Northern Iowa, Purdue, Penn State, South Dakota State, St. Joseph's, St. Louis, St. Mary's, Syracuse, Texas A&M, UCLA, Washington, VCU, Villanova, Virginia Tech, Wichita State, and Xavier.
