Irwin Finishes In Top 10 In Two Events

MISSOULA, Mont. - John Irwin turned in perhaps the best day for Gonzaga University's track and field team Saturday at the Al Manuel Invitational held at Dornblaser Stadium on the University of Montana campus. Irwin finished sixth in the 400 meters in 52.20 and tied for 10th in the 200 meters in 24.94 on a chilly, overcast day. Clare Obradovich had the top finish for the Bulldogs on the women's side, placing seventh in the 400 meters in 1:01.16 as the Bulldogs were competing in just their second meet of the spring. Laura Volcheff finished eighth in the 1500 meters in 5:25.00, and veteran Colby Litzenberger was ninth in the men's 1500 in 4:20.30. The next action for the Bulldogs will be Friday at the Pelluer Invitational in Cheney.
