Women's Tennis Falls To LMU

Moraga, Calif. - The Gonzaga University women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Loyola Marymount University Saturday during the second day for the 2008 West Coast Conference Championship in Moraga, Calif. LMU (10-14) opened play, earning the doubles point by taking the No. 2 and 3 spot. At No. 2, Jasmin Heckyl and Nixon combined to defeat Rika Mehndiratta and Danielle Farmer of Gonzaga (9-14). The Lions' Tina Razloznik and Caroline Nothnagel secured the point thanks to an 8-3 victory at No. 3 over Sydney Lederhouse and Clare Dodge. In singles play, the Lions continued to roll, posting wins at No. 1, 2, and 5. Playing No. 1, No. 75 Pavla Masterova posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Aglaya Kokurina, while Emily Anderson fell at No. 2 to Tamara Tanner 6-1, 6-1. The Lions secured the victory at No. 5, as Nothnagel downed Lederhouse 6-0, 6-0. The seventh seeded Bulldogs will wrap up the season Sunday as they face fifth seeded University of Portland. *Match Six Results - LMU 4, GON 0* Doubles
