Johnson Family Boathouse
Men's Rowing
Women's Rowing
Gonzaga Athletics dedicated the Johnson Family Boathouse at Silver Lake in 2019. The boathouse, the home for Gonzaga men's and women's rowing, is located just 15 minutes from Spokane on Silver Lake.
"Our family is honored to help bring this project to reality," Zach Johnson said for the dedication. "We are very passionate about collegiate varsity rowing on the West Coast and have always had so much respect for the Gonzaga program and their continued success. We hope this boathouse helps continue such a winning tradition for years to come."
The Johnson Family has been involved in the sport of rowing for years and made the lead gift on the boathouse project. Both Zach and his wife, Hannah, rowed competitively in college with Zach going on to row at the elite level, medaling in nine national championships in six different boat classes. Rowing has always been a big part of the Johnson Family as Zach served as an assistant coach at Yale and head coach at San Diego State, and most recently, UC San Diego.
