Women's Varsity Crew 7th At Head Of The Lake

SEATTLE - Gonzaga University concluded its fall crew season on Sunday morning with competition in the 21st annual Head of the Lake Regatta in Seattle. Gonzaga entered five boats in fall classic with men's and women's varsity and JV eights and a women's open four.

Gonzaga's varsity men's eight posted the second best finish for a Gonzaga boat with a fourth place finish at a time of 15:55 over the 4,800 meter course. The University of Washington was first in the event with a time of 15:16 followed by Oregon State and Pocock Rowing Club.

Gonzaga's varsity women finished the course in 18:06 to finish seventh in the race. Stanford won the team title at 16:57 with a 14-second advantage over second place Washington.

In the men's JV race, Gonzaga finished in fifth place at 16:55. Washington's first boat finished in first place at 15:30.

Gonzaga's JV women finished in eighth place at 18:44. Washington's first boat covered the course in 17:50 to win the race.

The Bulldogs open four boat finished in third place for Gonzaga's best showing. GU pulled a time of 21:21 following Washington's first and second boats in the race.
