Crew Opens 2002 Racing Season At Washington State

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's and women's crew will open the 2002 Spring Racing season this weekend with the Fawley Cup Regatta at Washington State. The event usually hosted by Gonzaga has been moved to Pullman due to poor racing conditions at Silver Lake in Spokane. Racing between Gonzaga and Washington State will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Wawawai Landing on the Snake River outside of Pullman.
Directions to Wawawai Landing
Take Highway 195 South To Pullman
Go past the Pullman/WSU exit to Wawawai Road
Take a right on Wawawai Road (Yellow Blinking Light)
Follow Road approximately 11 miles
* Do not take right turn into Boyer Park at 3 mile mark
At 11 miles, road will come to a T, take a right turn on this road
Follow this road 5.6 miles down into the Snake River Canyon
Cross railroad tracks and WSU boathouse will be on the right
Fans will be able to watch the regatta from the public landing at Wawawai.
