JV, Novice Crews Compete At Husky Invitational

SEATTLE - While Gonzaga University's men's and women's varsity crews are competing in the San Diego Crew Classic, Gonzaga's JV and Novice crews faired well at the Husky Invitational on Saturday at Montlake Cut.

Gonzaga's top men's and women's novice eight boats won their respective races on the day. Gonzaga's novice women won their heat with a time of 7:02 easily defeating second place Oregon by 38 seconds. Gonzaga's men's novice boat won its heat with a time of 6:26, a 17-second advantage over second place Western Washington. Gonzaga also won in the Women's Varsity 8 race with a time of 7:17. Western Washington finished second in that race with a time of 7:21.

Gonzaga will return to action next Saturday morning when the Bulldogs host Western Washington in a duel race at Medical Lake, WA.
