Lustig Named To District VIII Academic Second Team

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University senior women's rower Nicole Lustig has been named to the 2002 Verizon/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VIII Women's At-Large Second Team.
The at-large category includes the sports of rowing, gymnastics, skiing, fencing, ice hockey, swimming, water polo, field hockey, lacrosse, tennis, golf and rifle. A student-athlete must have at least a 3.2 grade point average and be a starter for important reserve in their respective sport to be eligible for selection.
Lustig helped lead the Bulldogs to a sixth straight West Coast Conference women's rowing title, to the Grand Final title in the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) regatta and to second place in the 2002 Avaya Collegiate Championships. She was an All-WCC and All-WIRA first-team selection.
The native of Moses Lake, Wash., carries a 3.83 GPA in special education. She was named the Bulldog Club Female Senior Athlete of the Year and was recognized as the athletic department's Female Scholar of the Year at the Gonzaga Academic Convocation.
