Gonzaga Crew Hosts Fawley Cup Regatta

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's and women's rowing teams host the last home regatta Saturday against the Washington State University Cougars at Silver Lake outside of Spokane. Races begin at 9 a.m.
The Bulldogs will race both men's and women's varsity, junior varsity and novice boats. The two teams last met in the fall during the Head of the Lake Regatta in Seattle. The Gonzaga men's varsity eight finished in fourth place while the Washington State boat finished eighth. On the women's side, the Cougars varsity eight claimed fourth place as the Bulldogs finished seventh.
The Cougars are coming off a successful 2002 season with the varsity eight women's boat taking third place at the Pac-10 Championships and finishing 13th at the NCAA Championships.
Gonzaga continues the spring season on the road April 5, when the men's and women's junior varsity and novice teams compete at the Willamette Invitational while the varsity teams have a dual meet at the San Diego Crew Classic April 6.

Take Interstate 90 West to Exit #272 (WA 902) Medical Lake Exit
Turn right onto WA-902 (West Medical Lake Road)
Follow Medical Lake Road 5.25 miles
Turn Left onto North Stanley Road (Conoco Station at corner)
Follow North Stanley Road for half a mile
Turn right onto East Lake Road
Follow East Lake Road for one block
Turn left onto North Hallett Road
Follow North Hallett Road 2.25 miles
Road ends at Silver Lake Camp
