Gonzaga Women Take Third In WCC Golf

MADERA, Calif. - Gonzaga University skied to a 316 Tuesday but the Bulldogs were still able to maintain third place in the West Coast Conference Women's Golf Championship.

The Bulldogs finished with a 54-hole total of 929 for a 10-stroke edge over fourth place University of Portland. Pepperdine University captured the team title with an 869 for a 10-stroke victory over the University of San Francisco.

Kate Siddell was the top Bulldog with a 54-hole total of 226 for 11th place after a round of 79 on Tureday over the par 73, 5,873-yard Riverbend Golf Club Course. Carrie DeGree shot 75 for the best Gonzaga round of the day to finish at 232 and tied for 13th with teammate Kelsey Posedel.

Carolina Llano of Pepperdine captured medalist honors with an 8-under-par 211 for a 7-stroke victory over teammate Lindsey Wright.
