Women's Crew Places Three On All-Region Teams

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's rowing team had three members honored on Friday as the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced its All-Region and Academic All-Region teams. Maria Bokulich was named to the All-West Region after helped the Bulldogs win their seventh straight WCC title and also win the ECAC Championship regatta. A junior from Santa Cruz, Calif., Bokulich earned second team All-CRCA honors last season. Senior Cynthia Savoca and junior Kristi Aamodt both earned Academic All-West Region honors after rowing in the Gonzaga Varsity Eight. Savoca is a three-year varsity rower from Rainer, Wash., and currently holds a 3.73 gpa in sociology. Aamodt, from Seattle, is in her first season as a member of the varsity boat and holds a 3.90 gpa in public relations. This is the second consecutive year that Savoca has earned All-Region Academic honors.
