Gonzaga Rower Brings Home Summer Medals

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University rower Maria Bokulich finished her summer off in style as she prepares to start her senior year with the Bulldogs crew. Bokulich earned four gold medals in summer competition rowing for the Vesper Boat Club in Philadelphia. Three gold medals were won at the 121st Royal Canadian Henley Regatta as a member of three different boats and the final medal was won in the women's senior 4+ at the U.S. National Championships.
In addition of rowing for the Vesper Boat Club, the Santa Cruz, Calif., native spent one week training at the national development camp in Princeton, New Jersey. Bokulich as been a member of three straight West Coast Conference championship crews and helped the Bulldogs win the ECAC National Invitational title in May. She was named a second team All-American by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association becoming the first Gonzaga rower to earn All-America honors.
