Bulldog Women Finish 13th In Boise

KUNA, Idaho - Gonzaga University shot a season-best 312 in Tuesday's second round of the Bronco Fall Invitational, but a 320 final-round kept the Bulldogs in 13th place with a 953, four strokes behind UC-Riverside.

Southern Methodist University put together two more solid rounds on Tuesday to go 291-296-295 for a 54-hole total of 882 over the 6,038-yard, par 72 Falcon Crest Golf Club and an easy 19-stroke win over Colorado State University.

Mary Kate Morgan, Sarah Sheffield, Lacey Jo Manwaring and Jennifer Swanson all shot 78 in Tuesday's first round, but only Swanson was able to break 80 for the final 18 holes as she shot a 79.

Morgan was the top Bulldogs finisher at 235 for a tie for 36.

Jennifer Ackerman of SMU, the first-day leader, had a 209 as she followed her opening-day 70 with a 70-69 on Tuesday for a 2-stroke victory over Laura Luethke of Fresno State University.

The tournament was the final fall outing for the Bulldogs.
