Golf Signs Four Golfers For 2005-06 Season

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University head golf coach Robert Gray has announced the addition of four new players for the 2005-06 season with two players joining both the men's and women's teams. Signing national letters of intent with the Bulldogs were Bowdy Ehler, Michael Hansen, Elizabeth Jarrett and Lauren Phillips.
Ehler joins the Gonzaga men's golf team after playing high school golf at Gering High School in Gering, Neb. Ehler was won nine tournaments while playing GHS including the 2002 Best in the West Classic. He has also finished in the Top 10 in all three of his Nebraska State championship appearances. Ehler has also picked up individual champion honors at the 2003 Big I Junior Championship and the 2004 Nebraska State Optimist Tournament
Hansen comes to Gonzaga from Jackson High School in Mill Creek, Wash. Hansen has won six Northwest Junior Tour events and was named the Northwest Junior Tour Player of the Year in 2001. He was the NW Junior Tour Player of the Year runner-up in 2002 and has twice finished fifth at the Washington Junior Golf Association Tournament. Hansen is a 2004 Team Washington member for the Junior America's Cup and was the 2003 Bill Egber's Memorial Champion.
Jarrett joins the women's team after playing high school golf at Bend Senior High School in Bend, Ore. Jarrett has helped BHS win two Oregon State titles as she placed in the Top 5 during six high school tournaments in 2004. She was a second-place finisher at the 2004 Corvallis Junior Tournament.
Phillips comes to Gonzaga from Auburn High School in Auburn, Wash., where she has earned first-team All-SPSL League honors in three consecutive years. She posted a second-place finish at the 2004 Washington Junior Golf Association State Tournament after a second-place finish in the 2003 Northwest Junior Tour Tacoma Open. In 2004 she won the Northwest Junior Tour Yakima Open. Phillips also won the 2003 Gold Mountain Junior Championships.
