Bulldogs Tie For 9th At Santa Clara Invite

CARMEL, Calif. - Gonzaga University shot a final-round 314 Tuesday to finish with a 36-hole total of 620 to drop into a tie for ninth with the University of British Columbia at the Santa Clara University Colby Invitational women's golf tournament.

The Bulldogs trailed tournament champion University of Oregon by just six shots after Monday's opening 18 holes, but the Ducks came home with a 303 on Tuesday for a 603 and an easy 6-stroke victory over the University of Idaho.

Kelsey Posedel, who paced the Bulldogs with an opening-round 73 to tie for third, shot an 83 Tuesday to fall into a tie for 20th with a 155. Teammate Erin Picht was among those Posedel was knotted, Picht shooting a 77-78 for the 36 holes. Carrie DeGree had a final-round 75 to go with a first-day 78 for a 153 to tie for 20th and pace the Bulldogs.

Michelle Timpani of Oregon won on the sixth hole of sudden death to claim individual medalist honors over Lindsay Snowden of UC Riverside. Both shot identical rounds of 75-71 for a 36-hole total of 146 and a 1-stroke lead over Marie Louise Juul of Long Beach State University.
