Bell 6th In WCC Men's Golf

MADERA, Calif. - Stu Bell had a 36 hole total of 4-under par 140 Monday for sixth place after the opening two rounds of the West Coast Conference Men's Golf Championship.

Bell toured the par 72, 7,101-yard Riverbend Colf Club in 69-71. Matt Munroe was the only other Bulldog in the top 20 as he is in a three-way tie for 20th with a 148. Robert Frye of the University of San Fracnisco shot 70-64 for a 134 and a 1-stroke lead over teammate Tyler Pitt heading into Tuesday's final round.

Pepperdine University holds an 8-stroke lead in the team race, the Waves at 569 to lead Saint Mary's College and USF who were tied for second at 577. Gonzaga is seventh at 589, one shot behind the University of Portland.
