Women's Golf Struggles In Second Round

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Gonzaga University's women's golf team had a rough second round Monday and finds itself in 17th place with a 36-hole score of 656 at the University of Colorado Heather Farr Memorial Invitational. Mary Kate Morgan was the only Bulldog to turn in to solid rounds, shooting 78-74 for a 152 for an eight-way tie for 26th heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes. Morgan's second-round 74 over the Omni Interlocken Resort course was 13 strokes better than her next teammate as the Bulldogs shot a 343 for the second round. Gonzaga is at 656 heading into Tuesday, five strokes behind No. 16 University of Wyoming. Denver University sits atop the leaderboard with a 595, Fresno State University is at 597 and San Jose State third at 598. Maria Persson-Gulda of host Colorado and Renee Skidmore of the University of Idaho share the 36-hole lead at 144. They hold a 1-stroke lead over Katie Kempte of Denver.
