SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Gonzaga University men's and women's varsity crew swept through the another day of competition at the WCC Challenge as the Bulldogs finished the weekend with eight wins after both the men and women knocked off Loyola Marymount University and Santa Clara University during Sunday racing at Lake Natoma. Racikng conditions included a head wind of 5-10 miles per hour with scattered rain showers all day long.
The GU men's varsity 8+ posted a strong opening piece with a 6:12.5 during the morning session as the Bulldogs blew past LMU which finished with a time of 6:29.6 In the afternoon sesson Gonzaga was across the line in a time of 6:25.5 followed by Santa Clara at 6:30.8.
The Gonzaga women's varsity 8+ also finished with two strong races as the Bulldogs picked up a 3-second victory over WCC rival LMU. Gonzaga rowed a time of 6:50.2 with LMU finishing at 6:53.9. In the afternoon piece, Gonzaga easily knocked off Santa Clara with the Bulldogs picking up a 22-second win. Gonzaga was in at 7:06.7 followed by SCU at 7:28.
