Morgan Ninth In WCC Women's Golf

COPPEROPOLIS, Calif. - Gonzaga University's Mary Kate Morgan shot a final-round 78 Tuesday to finish ninth in the West Coast Conference Women's Golf Championship.
Morgan put together rounds of 79-80-78 for a 54-hole total of 237 over the par 72, 5,283-yard Saddle Creek Golf course.
Gonzaga was last in the five-team field with a 54-hole score of 1,000.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Pepperdine University men's and women's golf teams claimed the West Coast Conference Golf Championships. The Wave women led from the opening round to capture their fourth consecutive West Coast Conference championship with an 886 to easily out-distance the University of San Francisco at 922. Carolina Llano of the Waves captured medalist honors with a 219 and teammate Marina Choi was second at 225 as the Waves claimed the top five spots. Choi was named the WCC Freshman of the Year and Pepperdine's Laurie Gibbs was named Coach of the Year.
Earning All-WCC honors were Pepperdine's Leanne Bowditch, Choi, Rachel Kyono, Llano, and Eileen Vargas; USF's Mariko Shimozaki, and Santa Clara University's Samantha Trask.
