CHENEY, Wash. - Jill Semenza and Ryan Anderson finished second in their respective races Friday at the 34th annual Pelluer Invitational track and field meet hosted by Eastern Washington University.
Semenza finished second in the women's 1500 meters in 4:47.93. Karen Dickson of Seattle Pacific University claimed the title in 4:40.97.
Anderson took second in the men's 5000 meters in a hand-timed 15:27.2 while Woody Faunger, running unattached, was first in 15:11.7. Gonzaga's Baraka Poulin was third in 15:43.1.
Joe Miller finished third in the 1500 meters in 3:59.62 in one of the most hotly competed races on Friday. Casey Kellogg of host EWU was first in 3:57.22 and John Timeus of the Egles was second in 3:58.79. Miller also placed 10th in the 800 meters in 2:02.20.
Kara Rasmussen was fifth in the women's 800 meters in 2:20.21 with Naomi Calkina 10th in 2:28.44. Molly Follen was sixth in the women's 5000 meters in a hand-timed 18:56.2.
