Bulldogs Tie For 12th At Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Gonzaga University's men's golf team opened the season by tying for 12th after Sunday's final round at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational hosted by the Air Force Academy.
The Bulldogs shot a final-round 300 to finish at 899 and tied with Utah Valley State University, four strokes behind the University of Wyoming in 11th at 895. The host Falcons captured the team title with a 54-hole total of 868, four shots better than Weber State University.
Jimmy Hayes was the top Bulldog finisher in a tie for 26th at 222 following a final-round 74 over the 7,301-yard, par 72 Eisenhower Golf Course-Blue Course to go with first-day rounds of 75 and 73. John Bergren also shot a 74 on Sunday to match Hayes for the best Bulldog round of the day and finished tied for 30th at 223 after opening rounds of 76-73 on Saturday.
Graham Delaet of Boise State University, the 36-hole leader, shot a 69 on Sunday for a 206 and an easy 6-stroke victory over Nic Van Vuuren who was at 212. There was a three-way tie for third at 213.
