Morgan Shoots Final-Round 71

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Gonzaga University's women's golf team shot a final-round 313 and fell to 17th in the season opening Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic hosted by Colorado State University.

The Bulldogs, 16th after Monday's 36 holes, finished with a 951, three shots behind the University of Nebraska. Baylor University, with a commanding 18-stroke lead entering the final round, finished at 859 to claim the title, 15 strokes ahead of the University of New Mexico.

Mary Kate Morgan paced the Bulldogs with a tournament-best 71 Tuesday to finish tied for 14th at 220. Lacey Jo Manwaring had the only other sub-80 round for the Bulldogs on Tuesday with a 77 to finish at 243.

Baylor teammates Josefin Svenningsson and Rian Reddick finished tied for medalist honors at 210. Svenningsson shot a final-round 72 while Reddick came in with a 70 to catch her teammate.
