Morgan Loses Second Round Match

VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, N.C. - Former Gonzaga University golfer Mary Kate Morgan lost her second-round match Thursday morning at the 105th North & South Women's Amateur at historic Pinehurst No. 2.

Ninth-seeded Emma Bennett of Moama, Australia, downed Morgan, the 41st seed, 1 up at historic Pinehurst No. 2. Bennett advanced to Thursday afternoon's third round.

Morgan, playing out of her hometown of Longview, Wash., graduated in May from Gonzaga. She was making her third straight appearance in the North & South and advanced to match play for the second straight year.
