Farmer Earns Point In Loss

San Luis Obispo, Calif. - Danielle Farmer earned a singles victory as the Gonzaga University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to West Coast Conference foe University of San Francisco Friday in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
San Francisco (4-7) earned the doubles point by taking two-of-three matches. Gonzaga's (4-11) Farmer and Rika Mehndiratta earned a victory at No. 2 with a convincing 8-1 victory over Jessy Mekpoh and Sarah Oudomvilay. At No. 1, Emily Anderson and Clare Dodge fell to Jennifer-Lee Heinser and Mylene Martin 8-2, while Kristen MacWilliam and Aglaya Kokurina fell at No. 3 to Jenny Sperry and Emma Taylor 8-6.
Farmer earned a point at No. 6 in singles play thanks to a three-set, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, victory over Oudomvilay. Mehndiratta also played a three-set match at No. 3, but was unable to earn the victory falling 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (5) to Taylor. At No. 2, Anderson also played to three-sets falling 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 to Martin while Kokurina dropped a 6-0, 7-5 decision to Heinser at No. 1. Dodge played No. 4 singles falling 6-3, 7-5, as MacWilliam fell at No. 5 6-0, 6-1 to Mekpoh.
The Bulldogs will hit the courts again on March. 21 when they host Weber State at the Spokane Racquet Club.
