Fallgren Shoots 77, Slips At Junior World Championships

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Gonzaga University incoming freshman Victoria Fallgren shot a third-round 77 Thursday and slipped into a tie for 13th after 54 holes of the Callaway Golf Junior World Championships.
Fallgren, who entered Thursday's play tied for fifth and the top American in the field, pared the first eight holes before ending the front side with a bogey on the par 5, 470-yard ninth hole.
After opening the back nine with a pair of pars, she bogeyed five of the final seven holes. She birdied the par 5, 430-yard 13th and the par 5, 485-yard 18th.
Her 77 over the 6,269-yard, par 74 Torrey Pines Golf Course - North Course layout gave her a 54-hole total of 225. The native of Lakewood, Calif., shot 73 and 75 through the first two rounds.
Jang Ha-Na of Korea is atop the leaderboard heading into Friday's final round after shooting a 4-under par 70 Thursday for a 54-hole score of 215. That's good for a 2-stroke lead over Christine Wong of Canada and 10 shots ahead of Fallgren.
Danielle Kang of Thousand Oaks, Calif., who shot a 69 Thursday, is the top American at 218 and tied for third.
