PRIMM, Nev. - Gonzaga University shot a second straight 299 in Tuesday's final round and the Bulldogs finished fifth at the Jackrabbit Invitational women's golf tournament hosted by South Dakota State University at the 6,022-yard, par 72 Lakes Course at Primm Valley Golf Club.
The Bulldogs finished with a 54-hole total of 908, just one shot behind Kennesaw State University for fourth. Oral Roberts University shot a 292 Tuesday to capture the team title with an 892, two shots better than Missouri State University.
The Bulldogs continued to get solid play throughout their lineup. Jessica Howe shot a final-round 77 for a 54-hole score of 226 to tie for 16th after rounds of 74-75 Monday. Sage Suffecool had a 76 on the heels of Monday's 78-73 and finished a 227 to tie for 20th. Stephanie Corey recorded her third straight 76 for 228 and a tie for 23rd.
Victoria Fallgren, who signed an incorrect scorecard in Monday's first round to negate her round of 72 in the team score, shot the best Bulldog round of the day Tuesday with a 73. That matched Suffecool's second-round 73 for the best Bulldog rounds of the week.
Olivia Lansing of Drake University maintained her first-day lead with a 71 for 213 and a 5-stroke victory over Kylie Bollenbach of Oral Roberts. Lansing opened with rounds of 72-70 Monday.
The next action for the Bulldogs will be the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., March 26-27.
