Zags Win Fourth Straight With Victory Over Montana

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's tennis team picked up its fourth consecutive win after beating the University of Montana 6-1 Sunday afternoon. The Zags improved to 11-4 overall by taking two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches.
Gonzaga opened the day by posting 8-3 and 8-6 wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, respectively. The Bulldogs continued to play well in the singles matchups as Rika Mehndiratta won at No. 1, Kristina Zauere at No. 2 and Prue Teitzel posted her team-leading 11th win of the season after winning 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 3 slot. Danielle Farmer added a win at No. 4 singles and Sophie Lantta close d out the lineup with a 6-1 6-2 win at No. 6.
"I was very pleased with how well we stayed focused throughout the afternoon," stated head coach D.J. Gurule. "Kristina played solid and Rika fought back after dropping her first set. This was a good Montana team that we beat today. I am very happy with the determination and confidence we are playing with right now."
The Bulldogs will host Lewis & Clark and Seattle University next Saturday.
