SPOKANE, Wash. - Three members of the Gonzaga University women's rowing squad were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) scholar-athletes for the 2010 season.
Juniors Emily Wilson (Nursing, 3.67 GPA), Hannah Winters (Biology, 3.55) and Therese Yrani (Psychology, 3.62) all earned distinction for their work in the classroom for the second straight season.
Student-athletes were required to meet all eligibility requirements defined by their institutions, row in the institution's NCAA eligible boats for a minimum of 75-percent of the current spring races or races in regional conference events and carry a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher for their career. Also, the student-athletes selected were upperclassmen (2nd, 3rd, or 4th year) in terms of eligibility and their head coaches must be good standing members of the CRCA.
A total of 467 student-athletes from 97 different institutions were honored for their academic efforts during the 2010 campaign.
