Women's Rowing Novice At Head of the Snake Friday

ON TAP: The Gonzaga University women's rowing novice team heads to Pullman Friday for the Head of the Snake, hosted by Washington State University at Wawawai Landing on the Snake River. The regatta, which will just feature the novice crew from both schools, will begin around 4:30 p.m. The race will be a longer head race style piece and two shorter races.

LINEUPS:

Novice 8+: Jennifer Hill, Tamryn Aalvik, Casey Burt, Ashley Jorgensen, Erin Russell, Monica Clark, Mari Schramm, Jamee Mason, Mary Haffner.

Second Novice 8+: Kaitlin Wulf, Erin Magee, Natalie Potts, Madison Hagen, Kelly Strader, Madeleine Patton, Sam Olsen, Kelsey McGinnis, Hilary Syvertson.

NOVICE COACH DREW COWENS ON THE UPCOMING RACE: "We are excited to get another trip down the race course, and very grateful to WSU and Coach McGrath for hosting us on their home water. We have a lot of speed in this group and this is our last chance to show it off this fall. I'm looking forward to good racing and good progress."

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE NOVICE: The Gonzaga University women's rowing novice had a strong outing at the Head of the Spokane last weekend; its only home race of the fall season. The Novice 8+ won their flight handedly, crossing the finish line nearly two minutes faster than Washington State University with a time of 20:02. The Cougars finished at 21:55.
