Mehndiratta, Farmer Receive All-WCC Honorable Mention Accolades

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University seniors Rika Mehndiratta and Danielle Farmer wrap up their illustrious careers with All-West Coast Conference honorable mention accolades as voted by the conference coaches Thursday.
The Bulldogs, who posted a 10-win season for the third consecutive season, had Mehndiratta earn her third consecutive honorable mention in singles while she and her longtime doubles partner Farmer achieve their first honorable mention in doubles.
Mehndiratta joins former Zags Emily Anderson and Aglaya Kokurina as the only players in program history to receive three All-WCC singles honors. She played all her singles matches at the No. 1 spot and was one of three Bulldogs to post a team-best nine wins.
Both natives of Portland, Ore., Mehndiratta and Farmer played all their matches at court No. 1 and finished 10-10, the second-best record on the team. It was also the second consecutive season the two posted a 10-win season together.
"Rika and Dani certainly deserve this recognition," Bulldogs head coach D.J. Gurule said. "They have been playing together for four years and had a fantastic WCC Tournament. It is always great for our players to get recognized by the coaches in the conference, but they are truly a testament to the work our entire team put in this year."
