SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University women's rowers Sarah Atkins and Naseeb Bhangal were named to the West Coast Conference Rowing All-Academic Team. Teammates Elise Perkins and Paula Welly earned honorable mention accolades.

Atkins, a sophomore, is a member of the Second Varsity 8+ boat. This season, Atkins helped her boat win gold at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships. Atkins holds a 3.71 GPA in nursing.

Bhangal, also a sophomore, is the coxswain for the Zags Varsity 4+ boat. Like Atkins, she led her boat to victory at the WIRA Championships. Bhangal holds a 3.93 GPA in political science and psychology.

Perkins and Welly were both members of the Bulldogs Varsity 8+ boat which also won gold at the WIRA Championship. Perkins, a senior, holds a 3.32 GPA in nursing, while Welly, also a senior, holds a 3.21 GPA in marketing.
