Women's Tennis Host Gonzaga Invite

THIS WEEKEND: The Gonzaga University women's tennis team continues the fall season by hosting the Gonzaga Invite at Gonzaga Prep. The Bulldogs will play against the University of Portland, Portland State University and Whitworth University in round-robin play. The matches begin Friday at 10 a.m.
HEAD COACH D.J. GURULE'S THOUGHTS ON THE GONZAGA INVITE: "This weekend is another great opportunity for us. We have things to work on and experience to gain. It is nice to host this weekend so our team can play in a comfortable environment. We will switch up some doubles pairings and continue to see who works well with each other."
INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE: The Gonzaga University women's tennis team has three international players on the roster. Freshman Isabell Klingert is from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, freshman Franziska Koehler is from Warstein, Germany and senior Prue Teitzel is from Brisbane, Australia.
EIGHT VETERANS RETURN: Eight experienced Gonzaga University women's tennis players return for the 2012-13 season. The returning Zags are seniors Taurie Bjerken, Britta Stime and Prue Teitzel; junior Hanley Caras, and sophomores Sandy Dennett, Katie Edwards, Kylie Peek and Alexandra Tallas.
FALL SCHEDULE: Gonzaga University has three more tournaments this fall. The Bulldogs host the Gonzaga Invite this upcoming weekend followed by a trip to Moraga, Calif., for the Saint Mary's Invitational. The fall season closes with the ITA Regionals in Palo Alto, Calif., on Oct. 19-21.
