Milam, Fraher WCC Cross Country All-Academic First Team

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University senior men's runner Willie Milam and junior women's runner Alison Fraher have been named to the 2013 West Coast Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic Teams.
In addition, the Bulldogs men had Matthew Crichlow and Danny Lunder earn honorable mention, while the women's team saw Krista Beyer and Shelly Davis named honorable mention.
Milam, a native of Portland, Ore., has a 3.78 cumulative GPA in business. He earned All-WCC First Team accolades last weekend at the WCC Cross Country Championships, finishing ninth in setting a Gonzaga WCC Championship 8K record of 23:46 to help the men finish fourth.
Fraher, who hails from Prescott, Ariz., has a 3.77 GPA in mechanical engineering. She placed 36th in 22:43 for the 6K layout at Pepperdine University as Gonzaga finished fifth.
Crichlow, a junior from Edmonds, Wash., has a 3.54 GPA in English; Lunder, a sophomore from Covington, Wash., carries a 3.53 in business; Beyer, a junior from Seattle, Wash., has a 3.74 in civil engineering, and Davis, a senior from Mukilteo, Wash., has a 3.36 in psychology.
Ten student-athletes were selected to both the men's and women's All-Academic team to mirror the All-Conference team that was announced last Saturday.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered in the sport of men's and women's cross country, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, be a significant contributor to his or her team, participate in at least 50 percent of all contests and have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one year in residence at the nominating institution.
