Women's Rowing Battles Washington State Saturday

SPOKANE, Wash. -
ON TAP: The Gonzaga University women's rowing team continues its spring season Saturday heading to Pullman, Wash., to participate in a dual with Washington State University at Wawawai Landing on the Snake River.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Racing for the Gonzaga University versus Washington State University dual runs from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Saturday.
Here is the schedule:
9 a.m. - Novice 8+
9:15 a.m. - Second Varsity 4+
9:30 a.m. - Varsity 4+
9:45 a.m. - Second Varsity 8+
10 a.m. - Varsity 8+
10:15 a.m. - Fourth Varsity 8+

HEAD COACH GLENN PUTYRAE'S THOUGHTS ON THE DUAL WITH WASHINGTON STATE: "We are looking forward to the opportunity to test our speed against a fast team. We have a great competitive relationship with Washington State and a history of bringing out the best in each other. I'm sure things will be no different Saturday. The Snake River can be challenging place to race so we have to be ready to bring our best and be prepared for whatever the conditions may be."
LAST TIME VERSUS WASHINGTON STATE: Washington State University won all six races against Gonzaga University in 2012. That dual took place on the Zags home water of Silver Lake in Medical Lake, Wash. With the Cougars winning the Varsity 8+ race, they won the Fawley Cup. The WSU Varsity 8+ crossed the finish line in 6:32.39 with Gonzaga coming home in 6:37.89. The Cougars were then-ranke 13th in the USRowing/Collegiate Coaches Association (CRCA) Division I poll.
