Zags Heads East; At George Washington Invite This Weekend

SPOKANE, Wash. -
ON TAP: The Gonzaga University women's rowing squad heads east for the George Washington Invitational, hosted on the Potomac River race course in Washington, D.C., Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.
ABOUT THE GEORGE WASHINGTON INVITATIONAL: The George Washington Invitational is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The largest collegiate rowing competition in the Washington metropolitan area welcomes Georgetown, Navy, Saint Joseph's, M.I.T, Holy Cross, Virginia, Florida Institute of Technology, along with Gonzaga and host George Washington. The racing begins on Friday at 1 p.m. and runs till 4 p.m. The event resumes with two Saturday sessions from 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony.
THE POTOMAC RIVER RACE COURSE: The 2,000-meter buoyed course begins near the Spout Run area of the Potomac River with the finish line at Washington Harbour in Georgetown.
