Women's Tennis Drops 7-0 At Pepperdine

MALIBU, Calif. - Gonzaga University women's tennis returned to West Coast Conference play Friday at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center and fell 7-0 to Pepperdine University.
The Bulldogs slide to 9-7 overall and 0-3 in West Coast Conference play. Pepperdine moves to 6-10, 3-0 in the WCC.
Both Katie Edwards and Kylie Peek faced ITA ranked opponents in their respective singles matches.
Edwards battled 40th-ranked Lorraine Guillermo but came up shy 6-1, 6-2. Peek squared off against 58th-ranked Khunpak Issara and fell 6-1, 6-0.
The Waves also clinched the doubles point to start the day.
The No. 1 doubles match for Edwards and Melanie Yates was also against a ranked opponent. Although competitive, the GU duo fell 8-0 to 10th-ranked Issara and Guillermo.
Gonzaga's WCC weekend continues Saturday as the Bulldogs will face Loyola Marymount University Saturday at 1 p.m.
