FAIRFAX, Calif. - Gonzaga University men's golf sophomore-to-be Sean Walsh tied for 37th at the 110th Trans-Mississippi Championship presented by TaylorMade-Adidas. The championship was held at Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif., July 8-10.
Walsh, who closed out his freshman campaign as the West Coast Conference Newcomer of the Year, ended the 3-day, 72-hole championship with a 3-over par 283 (73-64-75-71). The Keller, Texas native's best round was a six-under par 64 in round 2. Walsh birdied six holes during the round, and didn't bogey once for the 64; which tied for the lowest round of the tournament.
Bryson DeChambeau, of Clovis Calif., who plays at Southern Methodist University, won the tournament with a 1-under par 266. Jeremy Sanders and Austin Cook tied for second with scores of 271.
