
Zags Wrap Up Play at Georgetown Intercollegiate

BEALLSVILLE, Md.—The Gonzaga University men's golf team wrapped up the Georgetown Intercollegiate Tuesday, playing the tournament's final round of competition at The Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md.
Sean Walsh fired a 1-under-par 70 during the final round, moving into 10th place. He counted 144 strokes (+2) during the tournament. Also finishing among the top 15th, James Fahy tied for 14th with a two-day total of 146, four strokes over par. He shot 76 (+5) during Tuesday's round. With the top-15 spots, both Walsh and Fahy saw their best finishes of the young season.
Next up for the Zags, Will Brueckner tied for 34th with 150 (+8) strokes over both rounds. He ended his time in Maryland with a final-round 77, six shots above par.
Senior Brendan Connolly improved on his first round score Tuesday, carding a 73 (+2) during his final round to move into a tie for 45th. He wrapped up the tournament counting 153 strokes (+11) in total.
Finishing off the Zag lineup, David Ganz also improved on his first round tally, shooting a 7-over-par 78 during the second round. He ended the tournament with 159 strokes (+17) and in 62nd place.
As a team, Gonzaga counted 296 strokes (+12) during the final round for a tournament tally of 593, 25 shots above par. They finished in eighth place. The University of Toledo ran away with the team title at 569 strokes, just one stroke above par, while host school Georgetown's Cole Berman won medalist honors via a playoff. Both he and William & Mary's Alex Hicks ended the 36-hole tournament with scores of 140, two strokes below par.
The Zags now have just one tournament left in the fall season, the three-day Maui Invitational on Ka'anapali Golf Course in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. That competition will run from Friday, Nov. 7, to Sunday, Nov. 9, with one round taking place on each day.
