
Gonzaga Coach Putyrae Joins NCAA Women's Rowing Committee

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University women's rowing head coach Glenn Putyrae has been named to the NCAA Division I Rowing Committee.
Putyrae, who has been with the Bulldogs for a total of 11 years and is in his third year in his current stint as head coach, joins the seven-member committee Sept. 1, 2014.
Among his duties with the committee - whose purpose is to develop policies and procedures governing the administration and conduct of the NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Championships - Putyrae will participate in the national committee and the national NCAA Women's Rowing Championship selection process. He will also help rank the top teams in the West Region, and attend the NCAA Women's Rowing Championship.
Putyrae's term will expire in September, 2018.
He is the second member of the Gonzaga staff to earn an appointment with the rowing committee, joining senior associate athletic director Chris Standiford who was a member from 2006-09.
The Division I Women's Rowing Committee consists of seven voting members. One ember must be from each of the following regions: New England, Central, Mid-Atlantic, West, South, and two are selected at-large. In addition, a minimum of four of the seven members must be administrators
