SPOKANE, Wash. - On Wednesday, October 19, the women's rowing team held their annual Row-A-Thon from 9 am to 3 pm at the Hemmingson Center.
The squad set a goal of 750,000 meters and surpassed that mark by rowing 753,684 meters over the course of the event. The women's team is aiming to raise $40,000 and contribute 400 hours of community service as a result of the Row-A-Thon. The plan is to donate 100 hours of community service for every $10,000 donated.
The Gonzaga community was heavily involved in this year's Row-A-Thon and rowed 44,469 meters for the cause.
"Yesterday's Row-A-Thon was a resounding success," GU head coach Glenn Putyrae said. "Our team accomplished their goal of 750,000 meters and received amazing encouragement, and support from the Gonzaga community in the process. We are excited to work with our supporters to reach our fundraising goal and contributing our service to the community."
