Magruder Signs NLI to Join Gonzaga Men's Golf

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Gonzaga men's golf Head Coach Robert Gray announced the signing of Charlie Magruder to a National Letter of Intent Thursday.

Magruder joins the Zags in 2017-18 after a phenomenal career at Faith Lutheran High School in Las Vegas. He won the Nevada State Championship in 2014 and 2016, and placed third in 2015. Magruder was the Nevada High School Division 1-A Player of the Year in 2014 and 2016. As a junior he shot a two-under (142) to win the Division I-A state tournament. He also won the Southern Region tournament.
Magruder has qualified for the Junior World Championships four times. He placed 24th at the 2014 Big I National Championships.
Magruder, also a member of Faith Lutheran's varsity tennis team, has been a High Honors Scholar all four years of high school with a 4.0 grade point average throughout his high school career. He is a member of the national society of high school scholars and part of the honors institute.
Gray on Magruder: "We're excited to have Charlie joining our program! He has great family support and is a very grounded young man. He has a ton of upside and fits in well with all aspects of our program."
