SAN MARCOS, Calif.-After claiming a West Coast Conference title, junior Ciera Min picked up WCC Golfer of the Month honors, as announced by the conference office Friday.
Min earned the award for the month of April by playing her two best tournaments of the spring season. At the WCC Championships April 18-20, she became the third Bulldog in the last five years to claim conference medalist honors, shooting a program-best six-under-par 66 on the final day for the win. It was her first collegiate win, and she claimed victory with a three-round score of even-par 216. She joins Alice Kim (2014) and Victoria Fallgren (2012) as Zags who've become conference champions.
The Hilo, Hawaii, native opened the month at the Silverado Showdown April 3-5, where she shot 223 (+7), her lowest score of the 2016 calendar year at that point. She was just one stroke away from a Top-25 finish in Napa, Calif.
This is the second time a Bulldog was named WCC Golfer of the Month this year; Bianca Pagdanganan earned the honor for February as well.
Min's 2015-16 season ended with the WCC Championships, but Pagdanganan is competing at the NCAA Championships Friday, May 20, through Monday, May 23, at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.
