SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Seattle U Redhawks used control of possession and two opportunistic goals on Sunday afternoon to defeat No. 22 Gonzaga 2-0 at Luger Field.

SU's Cody Gibson scored twice. He benefited from a steal and assist from Medo Youssef in the 19th minute and was on the receiving end of a bouncing ball from Quinn Fahling in the 69th minute.

The Zags did not get many opportunities in the first half, but had some good chances in the second half getting all nine of their shots in the second stanza. Ben Willis made three saves in goal for GU. Jake Kempf led GU with four shots, two of them being on goal. Both Isaiah Jackson and Theo O'Malley paced the GU offense in the second half.

"Our passing was not crisp enough today to create good scoring chances," Gonzaga head coach Einar Thorarinsson said.

The Bulldogs (3-2) will look to get back to the form of their 3-0 start as they travel to Las Vegas next weekend for the Johann Memorial Classic. They begin with CSU Bakersfield on Friday before playing host UNLV on Sunday.
