
Mangrobang Leads Zags On Day One At Ptarmigan Ram Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. â€" The Gonzaga Bulldogs opened the 2017-18 season with the first round at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic at Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo on Sunday.
Jessica Mangrobang led the Zags shooting a two-over 74, to be tied for 31st in the tourney as she led the field with 15 pars. She parred every hole on the front and rolled home a birdie on the par-five 14th. Diana Araneta joined her in the 70s, firing a 76, only two strokes above her career low to be tied for 53rd.
Newcomer Francesca Santoni is tied in 73rd after shooting an 80. The Zags were 23-over and in 15th place.
UC Irvine is leading the field at -3 and the Anteaters' Avery French is leading at five-under. Araneta is second in the field at two-under on the par-fives. Her round featured birdies on number two, seven, and 14, with two and 14 being par-fives.
