Zags welcome Spokane native to 2019-20 roster
SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga men's golf head coach Robert Gray announced the signing of Zach Stocker.
Zach Stocker
Spokane, Wash. | Central Valley High School | Community Colleges of Spokane
Stocker will join the Zags as a sophomore in 2019. He is currently a freshman playing at the Community Colleges of Spokane. He is a Spokane, Wash., native that boasted a 3.65 GPA at Central Valley High School.
Stocker was the Washington Junior Golf Association District Champion in 2018, and placed ninth at the WJGA State Championship. He was named All-GSL First Team following his junior and senior seasons at Central Valley. He was the 2018 GSL District Champion. Stocker was also the 2017 AJGA Sunriver Open co-champion.
"We're very excited to have Zach joining us next fall," Gray said. "He's very athletic, setting multiple high school records in basketball at Central Valley High School, and just scratching the surface on what he can achieve on the golf course. In his four events at CCS this fall, he has a Top-5, Top-10, Top-15 and Top-20 finish.
"He's humble and a hard worker, which fits in very well with our team dynamic and like all of our team members, he comes from an amazing family. At this point he just needs to get more tournament experience on a higher platform. Playing at Community Colleges of Spokane this year will be a great benefit for him in getting that tournament experience along with great coaching from their head coach, Corey Prugh.'
