SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's cross country and track head coach
Jake Stewart announced the signing of Brittney Hansen Monday.

Hansen will join the Zags as a freshman in 2019. She has an enjoyed a stellar career at Meridian High School, in Meridian, Idaho.
Hansen placed third in the 3,200 meters at the 2018 Idaho State Championship. Entering her senior season at Meridian, her 3,200-meter personal record is 11:04.94, while her 3,000-meter personal record is 10:15.29. Hansen's best 1,600-meter time is 5:08.28.
"We're excited to have Brittney joining us in the fall of 2019," Stewart said. "From the get go, Brittney has been someone we felt would add a lot to our program. She's got tremendous upside, splitting time between track and cross country in the spring and fall, along with playing basketball in the summer and winter. She's a competitive young woman, an exceptional student and really embraced what our message was for the future of our team. She wanted to have an impact on a program and we believe she'll do that at Gonzaga."
Hansen is the first recruit of the 2019 class, and other releases will be released as the class grows.
