
Zags Tie Eagles In Dual

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. - The Gonzaga Bulldogs and Eastern Washington Eagles battled in the Bulldog-Eagle Challenge at Liberty Lake Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.
The Zags' Nina Novilla shot a pair of 72s, her season-low round, and tied for the win in the event finishing at +4, the best finish of her career. Jessica Mangrobang was right behind her in third at +8, her second-straight third-place finish. Diana Araneta fired a second-round 72, her career-low round.
The Zags shot a 294 on the second day to tie Eastern Washington at +40.
"It was great to catch EWU on the final day and hopefully this is a sign of things to come," Gonzaga head coach Brad Rickel said.
Novilla had two birdies on day one and 15 pars on day two. Araneta had two birdies on her day-two back nine to go even on the back. Mangrobang was solid with a day-two 73, with 15 pars.
The Zags return to the course on Monday, April 2 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz.
