Munetake Named Academic All-Conference

Backes, Magruder, Mogg and Ruel all tabbed honorable mention
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Gonzaga's Tyler Munetake was named Academic All-West Coast Conference. The league office announced the All-Academic team and honorable mention selections Friday.
Munetake was named to the All-Academic team for the second straight season, after being tabbed honorable mention his sophomore year. The lone senior on this season's roster, Munetake had a 3.43 grade point average as a Business Administration major.
On the course, Munetake had a 73.89 scoring average this past season, the second-lowest average on the team. He finished his four-year stint at GU with a 75.71 career scoring average. He appeared in six events this season, with seven rounds at par or lower. The Wailuku, Hawaii native was two-over relative to par, with one Top-10 finish, and a career-low round of 66 at the SeattleU Redhawk Invitational.
Holden Backes, Charlie Magruder, Chris Mogg and Matthew Ruel were all selected All-WCC honorable mention. Backes boasts a 3.92 GPA as a Business Administration major. Ruel, a Sport Management major, has a 3.65 GPA. Mogg is also a Business Administration major with a 3.32 GPA, while Magruder has a 3.30 GPA in Psychology.
