SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's and men's track teams begin their 2020 season at the Vandal Open in the Kibbie Dome on the University of Idaho campus Saturday.
It will be the first of three meets inside the Kibbie Dome for the Zags this season, as GU rotates between Moscow, Idaho, and Seattle during the six-meet indoor schedule.
Gonzaga will send 36 student-athletes to the season-opening meet. Both the Zag women and men return plenty of experience and talent in 2020.
The Bulldogs have found success in Moscow, Lindsey Drake set the women's program's indoor mile inside the Kibbie Dome in 2012, and four Top-10 times were ran last season at the University of Idaho. Last year, GU freshman
Morgan Greene opened her collegiate track career breaking the women's indoor 600-meter record during the opening weekend in Seattle.
Three GU women's runners open the meet for Gonzaga in the 60-meter preliminaries at 12 p.m. Five Bulldogs follow in the men's mile at 12:40 p.m. The Zags compete in nine events, concluding with the women's 4x400-meter relay at 5:55 p.m. Meet results will be available approximately 30 minutes after the last event.
