Tucker Signs with Gonzaga Cross Country and Track

Zags ink standout from Davis, California
SPOKANE, Wash. – Director of Gonzaga Cross country and Track and Field Pat Tyson announced the signing of Ansel Tucker Wednesday.
"Ansel comes in as a very good prospect that will develop in our program, Tyson said. "He has the characteristics that I like in runners, gritty and hard-working! He is a team guy and an excellent student. Ansel comes out of the highly successful Davis High School program."

Tucker will join the Zags as a freshman in 2021-22, after a standout high school career in Davis, Calif. He has a personal best of 9:21.66 in the 3,200 meters. He ran a 16:18.8 5,000-meter time at XC Town USA Meet of Champions in November.
"I chose Gonzaga because I wanted to join a team of motivated individuals coming together to become something greater," Tucker said. "I am excited to run for Coach Tyson who has such an amazing reputation. Gonzaga provides a great learning environment to further my academic career."
